Bought new from the first batch of Roadinis, ridden a few hundred miles.
Frame is in good condition with a handful of scratches but no dents.
Wheelset was built by Rich (Hands on Wheels). Note this frame version uses
the mid-reach brakes and has a max tire width of ~35mm without fenders. PBH

I think you could make either work for what you want to do and would be a
pleasure to own. That said, I would opt for the Susie because of its
uniqueness. I can't think of an off-the-shelf frame that offers the
combination of design elements that the Susie does using lugs and fillet
brazing,
with
similar flat performance and durability. I haven't had direct experince
with the Mondials but people speak highly of those when touring off road.

Like Tim, I suggest spending the extra money on double butted spokes since
you're having a custom set built. Otherwise, I like your baseline
selections.
On the hubs, I personally would opt for the DT Swiss 350s. IMO it's a nicer
hub, easy to work on, tremendous flexibility, and gives you the
Hi Christian,
Topeak makes a frame pump for the global market. You can locate new ones
from international sellers on eBay. The 4349 has the same spec lengths as
the HPX-1.

Congrats - new bike day is always the best day.
+1 on Toshi's suggestion for a triple crank up front (get a light-ish road
crank) with an 11-28 cassette in the rear - that's my setup on my long
distance bike. That gives a wider gear range than the wide-low and minimal
weight difference because

Sinewave cycles also carries SP but I've never shopped with them before.

Thanks for taking the time to write this up and post the photos. That ride
looked great. I love the build, and I bet it rides as good as it looks.
Enjoyed every bit of your post.

I have a bad habit of snapping the original binder bolt when making
adjustments for fit. I just keep a bunch spares around and stash one with
the tools/spare tube for when I ride.
