[RBW] FS 56 Toyo Atlantis and a few other items

2022-08-06 Thread Andrew Huston
Preparing to unload a few bikes.

56 Atlantis
I bought this bike and it has basically sat as I have far too many bikes. I
am the second owner and it is in really nice shape for its age. A few minor
cosmetic blames but again, nothing nuts. Build is a nice mix of Phil
hubs/bb, King headset, and Paul cantis.
Asking $2200 plus shipping (no saddle or pedals)

Other items include:
Moustache bars and nitto stem
Nitto Bullmoose bars
Medium Black Sheep Klunker SS complete
Crust Wombat frame/Cliffhanger ss wheel set/crank, all new (rolling
chassis-ish)
We can discuss interest in these items off list.

I much prefer to text or have a call to discuss so please reach out that
way if you are able. 810-8four1-four39six

Maybe the next best option is the Atlantis. Not really sure when that is
supposed to show up.

I’m hoping the joe takes a 2.25 tire. If not that may be the deal breaker.

- 100% Surly 4130 chromoly steel. Main triangle double butted. Fork is
lugged and brazed
- Tektro CR720 canti brakes and Michelin City 26 x 1.85" tires

[RBW] WTB Tosco bars/faceplate stem

2021-09-24 Thread Andrew Huston
Wondering if anyone has a set they are not enamored with. Prefer the 65cm
version with 31.8 clamp. Also would like to find a 4 bolt faceplate stem to
go with.

Also would consider a billie bar
Thanks!

So yet again I was not up to snuff with regards to my eBay bidding. I was
hesitant to go much above $2k and it turns out I lost by about $50. As luck
would have it, I managed to snag a 52 frame in blue. This is definitely not
my color choice but figured I may as well get one while I can. I very well

I do think $2050 was about max value for the grilver even with nice parts.

I immediately called Riv in shock. I was to the second and I just can't
believe the cart doesn't hold an item for 20 seconds to finalize. I also
called some dealers and was told that no dealer has any. I would love to be
proved wrong. The second issue is it seems dealers only will sell if you do
a build thru them. Since I already have a ton of parts i've bought, it
wouldn't make financial sense.

Truly unbelievable. Gone in less than a minute I think. I so badly wanted a

If anyone is sourcing parts I have a nice heap that seem to be useless now.

email the pics to me at joeremi62 gmail com and I'll get them in this

Re: [RBW] WTB quickbeam or simple one

2020-05-30 Thread Andrew Huston
As anyone who is looking at bikes recently will find, there are not many
available. Of those mentioned, only a cross check is available locally.
Craigslist is becoming less of a resource, likely where the more vintage bikes
could be found. I’m considering the cross check strongly but have a strong
desire for the ultra clean lines of a track bike. Don’t ask me why.
A QB and a SO we’re possibilities but as I mention I need shipping. The owners
preferred not to bother with it and I don’t blame them. So, still on the hunt.

[RBW] FS Schwinn Cimarron, Chumba Stella, possible Clem H frame

2020-04-17 Thread Andrew Huston
Offering a few bikes FS to thin the herd.

First off a beautiful Schwinn Cimarron LE, 1985 I believe. Deore
derailleurs, Araya Rims, Nitto stem and bars. I bought locally with ideas
that aren't going to come to fruition. Asking $350 plus shipping cost.

Chumba Stella, Medium frame, Nine rigid fork, SLX bits and pieces, Thomson
post, Velocity Blunt rims with I9 1/1 hubs. Just really don't ride trails
in the way this was intended. Could be a great bike packing bike, also
something I don't do. Looking for $2k plus shipping.

Throwing around the idea of selling my Clem H frame. This is a maybe
because I love this bike and would only sell if I can snag that beautiful
650 Atlantis listed. 52 Grilver Clem H, excellent condition. Thinking $650
plus shipping

Reasonable negotiations welcomed. Quarantine has taught me I don't need all
that I have.

[RBW] Re: How do you ride alone?

2020-03-18 Thread Andrew Huston
Craig, thinking of those local rides mostly but I’m happy to hear how you go
long and solo.

As for me, my rides are pretty short generally. Anywhere from four to 20 miles
at longest. I have small kiddos and they require (and I’m happy to give) my
time. I’m more than pleased with the length. I find some comfort in the
familiar country roads around me. Much of it is flat, low traffic, with some
gravel and woods here and there. I take a beverage, usually water but sometimes
a bourbon flask. No snacks. I’m taking my time lately, looking in the fields
for deer or turkey. Often I stop somewhere particularly quiet to soak that in.
I long for some warmer temps here in Michigan but the cold has a way of making
you feel alive.
Either my Clem H or newly acquired Kona Rove ST take me there. Flat pedals for
sure.

[RBW] How do you ride alone?

2020-03-18 Thread Andrew Huston
I had a thought. Considering the current situation it could be fun to get ideas
on how you ride solo. I want specifics. Where, how far, what bike, how you make
it special? Do you bring coffee, bourbon, a pipe, food? Do you pedal hard or
take it easy? Maybe read at a favorite spot, meditate, whatever. Go nuts.
This could give us ideas on how to reinvent our time on the bike while we deal
with this weird new world.

Really like to see if I can find a 55 Canti Sam. Ideally in excellent
shape. I would be interested in trading my Chumba Stella if someone would
fancy a bike like that. Happy to purchase cash if its the right bike.

[RBW] FS Grilver Clem H F/F/HS size 52

2019-12-17 Thread Andrew Huston
If someone buys this it will go directly to purchase Joe’s Clem in mustard.
Just bought this a few days before 718 cyclery dropped the price on the one joe
bought or I would have likely snagged it then. Perfect condition. $800 shipped.
I also have the stock wheelset/tires and bosco bars/stem that I would include
for a bit more. PM off list.

[RBW] FS two bikes to fund Gus or Susie

2019-11-17 Thread Andrew Huston
With a bit of a short timetable and gaining interest in these two hilly frames,
I thought I’d see if anyone was interested in either of these two bikes to free
up the cash.

Medium Chumba Stella. $2300 complete. Nice build, low low use. I can dig into
details if it tickles your fancy.

56 Surly Cross Check. $550 complete, Singlespeed, black, great condition.

It’s 9:30pm on Sunday and this is a Hail Mary to see if a new bike is in the
stars.

Re: [RBW] Re: A Tale of Two Clems

2019-11-12 Thread Andrew Huston
Going to gush a bit. I have owned a few Rivs over the years and bought the web
special grilver 52 a few weeks back. Other than still having a love affair with
that mustard color, I very much enjoy the way this bike rides. I’ve held out by
thinking the Clem will be boring, wouldn’t be good at anything, etc etc etc.
Maybe it’s not GOOD at anything but whatever. It seems practical and
comfortable which is what I need in a bike. Since I’ve got it my $3K bike has
sat idle. The time I have for rides now favors short fun jaunts, unassuming,
and easy. A few alterations will likely make this my one bike. Never thought a
Clem would be that bike.
