It needs a new home and you are Rivendell qualified. Where are you located
? I’m in San Carlos. On the Peninsula south of San Francisco. Can you come
get a test ride?

Re: [RBW] Re: Clem Smith Jr. L for Sale

2021-02-06 Thread Brian Oldham
Hi

The business model for Rivendell is to focus on one frame group at a time.
So it takes a couple of months to work through a container or so of
frames. They are having the Sam Hillborne frame now so that is going to
generate the excitement for their work capacity. It could easily be next
year before the Clem Smith Junior (H) and (L).

The variety of bicycle types and models is cool but a person who sees a
bike like my Clem Smith Jr. might have to wait a long time to find one for
themselves. I wanted a Joe Appaloosa months ago and have not been able to
get one.

That is why the secondary market is important. When we pass our bikes
around among Rivendellers we make it possible to have or try more than one
Bicycle.

This bike is really beautiful in person. Grant says it will last a
lifetime and it is less than a year old now.

Re: [RBW] Re: Swap of Clem Smith Jr. for Joe Appaloosa (adjustment for value)

2021-01-13 Thread Brian Oldham
Thank you Ryan. You are #1. This Clem has a front generator, Shimano
pedals, front and back Nitto racks, Wald basket (139) and will soon have
the Wavy Bar, smoother gearing, and Renee Herse tires.

I'll let you know about the difference after this fix.

[RBW] Swap of Clem Smith Jr. for Joe Appaloosa (adjustment for value)

2021-01-13 Thread Brian Oldham
I would like to find someone who would like to buy my Clem Smith Jr. or
swap for a Joe Appaloosa.

The Clem is in perfect shape. It is a 52 with generator light, double kick
stand, Let's talk.

My best lock , above Abus even is a German lock called Tex-Lock. Made of
steel and carbon fibers. Heavy but really good

[RBW] Clem Smith Jr. Low

2020-05-27 Thread Brian Oldham
I just ordered one of these in the presale so I will have a couple of
months before the bike is ready to build out and deliver. What are the
essential parts I need to add to the basic "complete" bike?? I'm thinking
of using a Brooks B67 that I already own. Best pedals? A rear rack for
sure but which? What is that bag that Grant always has on the back of his
bikes? I think that would be good for this. I'm thinking about Albastache
bars, crazy?? I really like the various creative handlebar treatments that
the staff bikes show on all the various Rivendell's .. How do I get that
kind of think on this Clem? I'm looking forward to having this bike and
putting some heavy miles on it.
