It looks like a cover to allow running a cable stop at the shifter boss.
If you pull it off, there should be a regular shifter boss under it.
Those caps allow you to use bar end, thumb shifters or brifters.

Every Schwann head badge I’ve removed or installed used little tapered

I just located a head badge and I’m willing to bet the the screws are

I wouldn’t talk you out of wheels, I think nice hand built wheels with
carefully chosen parts are a very worthwhile investment that will last for
many miles.
I would suggest that while you are wading through a lot of information
about your “great” wheels, you try some lighter tires.

In Will’s email yesterday there was a link to a new blugh but there is
nothing there.
I had a question about the 7 speed cassette that was alluded to, did anyone
read about it?
It looks like a great option,
Can anyone offer a brief synopsis.
Thank you

I have a similar affinity towards my 6” steel rule. It’s metric on one side
and imperial on the other.
It is my most reached for tool by a long shot. Since I don’t own a vernier
caliper I poor boy it by using an adjustable wrench to get the diameter of
a tube or rod and then measure the
I’m in need of a set (bike’s worth) of V-brakes.
I see Rivendell has Alivo level brakes for $20 per wheel
Is there a compelling reason not to use them?
If so, any recommendation on a budget level brake that works well?
Thank you

Hi All,
I have 4 bike stands, these are the type that have 4 small wheels and two
hoops that hold a wheel.
I would prefer to have someone pick them up here in Vallejo CA
$5 ea.
If I did ship them, they would need to be disassembled and boxed up.
$25 for all 4 plus actual shipping costs but I
Long shot here for sure but did anyone buy a small Gus or Platypus that
