Resale isn’t an issue. Worst case, if I do resell, I’m ok taking what little hit there would be. Most vinyl stickers are fairly easy to take off with a little heat and goo gone and/or WD40. My main concern is I don’t want it to look tacky. Maybe it might. Just depending on who puts on the sticker. I’d also like to get a Betty headtube badge made as well. Not like the stock but something custom. That might be later down the road. Maybe V-day present. You don't want to do anything that messes up resale later, so I can't be advise slapping stickers on that may not peel off well. A full repaint would be lovely but expensive, and then again resale might be limited by the gender-specific name. So basically it's her bike and her money, but I'd think hard about getting comfy with the Cheviot name and those cool little sheep before messing with it. Christmas will be here before we know it. I wanted to get my wife a new bike as a present. She’s not really in love with her Surly trucker I built for her 5 years ago. She would like a step through and when I showed her a picture of an old Betty Foy, she loved it. Mainly the name! 🤪 I was unsuccessful in locating a Betty. So I am thinking of buying a Cheviot from Riv and putting “Betty Foy” stickers on it. Problem is, the Cheviot stickers are under the clear coat. So my options are: $350 to repaint (2 tone) and have Riv put Betty stickers on. Although she already likes the dark sage paint (and Riv has that color in her size in stock) and it would be a shame to strip a beautiful paint job. Or get Betty stickers made (3rd party) and put it right over the Cheviot decals. Then I’d paint all the heart lugs red to complete the look.
