Probably down to differences in rim width and how close to the rim people
run their brake pads. On a sidepull caliper, how far the pads are apart
when the QR is opened is limited by how far they are apart when it is
closed. If you have narrow rims and like to run your pads close to the rim
That's weird. I don't know. I had to deflate the front tire with Paul
brakes, but never the rear.

I've never had to deflate 48's on 559s. The quick release comes in really
handy to open up the brakes more

Right now running 650b Bruce Gordon Rock n' Roads on Atlas rims. They measure
about 41.5. Have had Big Bens as well - they were about 47 as I recall.

I really liked the Resist Nomad 45 (actually about 40mm), a much nicer tire
