[RBW] Clementine Believer
I saw only one bottle mount on the Clementine. The Blug shows a bottle behind the seat tube on that black Clemmy. It appears strapped on though. I think the absence of a bottle holder somewhere on the seat tube is disappointing. Maybe it didn't work well on prototypes?? On both the Chev and the Clems , I see only one . I don't know about anyone else but I rarely ride with 1 large bottle , and those are 20 miles . Does this mean you have to mcgyver water bottle mounts with aftermarkets I assume ? With all that real estate behind the ST it seems there could be at least 1 if not 2 braze-ons mounted at like 45 degree angles backwards . -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups RBW Owners Bunch group. Jim: Let us know if you find a source for that seat. dougP On Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at 8:11:50 AM UTC-7, James Warren wrote: Thanks, Aaron. I was at Rivendell WC yesterday, and I got to ride the Clementine with that seat attached. It's really excellent. The brand is Velo; the look is plain and good, and the handle it has off the back is nice for two reasons: as a handle as intended or as a place for saddlebag attaching. It's wide to optimize the Bosco bar setup, but you don't have to spring (!) for the price of a B67. I liked how the inexpensive Velo seat felt while riding on it. I kind of want to get one separately. -Jim W. Shop owner John (nice to meet you!) let me ride the Clementine for a bit. It was set up with Bosco bars and fat knobby tires. It was great! The Hunqa fork goes a long way to making this bike look super tough. I admit that based only on internet pics and reading about the Clem/Clementine I was not very impressed. But it was a whole different story to see it in person and ride it, and now I'm a believer. Even the Clementine with the swooping tubes had a rough/tough/beefy look to it. Not girly at all (hey, I like girly). I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Clementine to anyone especially for the price. Heck, now I'm itching to add one to my band of bicycles. I'm pretty sure I would even go with a Clementine over the Clem because of the drop tube.
