Bruce: What sort of sample do they need? When I get wall paint to match my slightly darkened (after 4 years) off white interior walls, they tell me to bring in a paint sample about 1" square, which I chisel off an inconspicuous corner. What do you do for bike paint? I've had good success getting touchup paint at a good auto supply store. They can match also any color, and they mix it on the spot. I've had it done for several older steel frames and been very satisfied. Not expensive either. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "RBW Owners Bunch" group. [RBW] Good New/Bad News on my repaired Atlantis
The good news: I got my Atlantis back! I won't get into the details, but it had to go to two different framebuilders to get realigned. It's riding great now. The bad news: it came back with a dozen or so new chips in the paint. I'm not interested in pointing fingers: the frame went between the shop and the two framebuilders, and it could've happened anywhere (or everywhere). I'm a little bummed--I'd like all beausage on the frame to come from my own personal use. I'll probably get some touch up paint from Waterford, but does anyone have some Family Secret rust prevention tips in the meantime? I'm the slushy and salty NYC area, and I STILL haven't put fenders on the bike. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "RBW Owners Bunch" group.
