Thanks, Mitch. From what I understand (TB2 uses videos to explain the bag's
features, and I find them excruciatingly slow, so I fast forward too much)
the Classic has a sleeve that can hold a laptop of the rated dimensions,
though this sleeve is also called a "document sleeve," so that it probably
does not provide the same protection as a laptop pocket proper.

Still, I'm used to carrying laptops in bags that, basically, have just
large interior spaces, and my 2010 MB Pro was still trouble free when I
traded it in this year. At any rate, I'll use this as much as a briefcase
as a courier bag, and if I anticipate a particularly jarring ride, I'll
wrap it in a towel.

My MBP has a solid state drive, too, so I am less worried about damage than
I might otherwise be.

Moving on to the really important matter of style. I bought mine online at
Nordstrom's, and my brother tells me that TB2 just opened a "boutique" in
Venice, CA's most expensive retail street. So TB2 has become a fashion
statement -- gag me with a spoon.* That's OK, since I selected the wholly
pedestrian solid olive green; I just hope that the quality hasn't gone the
way of Timberland, Brooks Bros, Nunn Bush, Schwinn, and so on.
