While I am not wild about chain guards in general, I really like the rest
of the crankset. I cannot wait to get mine. Jim D.

I believe that when Riv sets up a new bike they always set it up with the
bars at the Max High mark so the cables won't be too short if a buyer
raises the bars after they receive it, so maybe that's why they are up up
up.

The Clem looks like it's set up for someone riding a bike three sizes too
small. Like Dave said, it may be to preserve the quill and seatpost.
I'm also not sure about the crankset, specifically the chainguard.

Good point about the cables, and I'm sure the stem is set at least as high as
its max height line, as is the Rivendell norm for cablling, but I'm just
pleasantly surprised to see that the Bosco Bullmoose has that much quill length.
