Thanks for sharing your experience Chad. Yes, I've been through a lot of
Rivs mainly because my proportions seem out of the norm.
To be clear 54.5 when riding with shoes is no problem. I'm not a stickler
about standover, especially on a road bike like this. With shoes if I tilt
the bike even
Phil,
I also have an 80PBH and set my saddle at 68.5-70 depending on the pedals,
shoes, saddle, etc. I’m curious, did RBW steer you towards the 54.5? A 54.5
with the upsloping top top tube seems awful big for a 80 PBH. I had a 51 Sam
Hillborne that was almost the same in every dimension to
Hi Roberta,
I've had the Appaloosa and it's a great bike. I had a 51cm.
I would say the AHH is a bit more zippy. I think it depends on if you need
the speed, or the carrying capacity.

Hi, Phil.
I talked myself out of an MIT AHH, which I was considering (drooling over,
actually) for several weeks as a bike for a second location. I am
still curious though... Have you ridden a Joe Appaloosa or Atlantis? I
have an Appaloosa and I was wondering how different or similar the
My PBH is 78.74cm and I have a 51cm AHH. It's slightly small, but the 54.5
would be too big. I do like the stand over though because of stop lights
and whatnot.

I'm very similar. I have a 68.5 saddle height and 69.5 PBH. The 54 AHH is
at the tall end of my spectrum--I think my custom ended up being 52.5. My
inseam is 30 inches and the standover height with 38 mm Soma Xpress is
about 30 inches. The new 54.5 AHH might be too big for me. The 51 should
As I've responded to RDS:
My pbh is 80cm. Saddleheight is 68.5 but have dropped it to 67cm these
days. No issues, I would just like to size slightly smaller to lower my
handlebars a bit more, but 51cm is too small.
I'm also willing to trade for a 53cm Atlantis.
