There are three metal bridges in that area, and they were most likely put
there by a team of volunteers who built the trail. I know at least some of
the trails in the area were designed and implemented (with recruited trail
volunteers) to earn Eagle Scout. I'm not sure if this is one of those.
What an adventure. Exposure to fun like this at a young age is wonderful
to help them grown up with a sense of curiousity about the world.
