Mark, that's a classy caliper & lever set. We had a couple of Takaras in
the 80s; kinda wish we had kept them. I'd love to see some pics when you
get the Takara set up.

Funny, I guess Dia Compe was fairly loose with the designation Gran Compe.
I have a set of 750s that have the regular Dia Compe arms, as opposed to
the Mafac orientation. The calipers in this set have been on my Le Tour
mixte, while the levers are on my Takara; planning to reunite the two on
True indeed. Can confirm that 610s won't fit the rear, either. I ended up
with a set of Silver long-reach sidepulls. I'm not thrilled by the braking,
but at least they have the needed reach. The front brake pads are near the
top of the slot, the rears as low as they can go. Dramatic and kind of
Wow. That's a good looking bike. If I had one (and they fit tall people),
I'd move the silver Paul dingle wheelset over from the Quickbeam, and run
black Rock N Road tires.
It's nice to fantasize! Good luck with both your builds.

Cool. Standard reach gran Compe centerpulls are rare enough. I had no idea
there was a long reach version. Is it something like 55-70 mm reach? Looks
fantastic
Thanks,

How big a tire can you run on the Frank Jones? I see "fenderable to about

Well, looks like the rear on mine just didn't want to reach far enough.
It's going to be 610 centerpulls for me.

I have just picked up a set of Tektro R737 long-reach calipers for Frank.
On their web site they're indicated as 47-59mm reach, but when I picked up
the box it indicated 57mm max reach. A quick mock-up fit seems to indicate
that they WILL reach the rims, but I'm a little concerned and will
