I'm with Jim regarding lower bars. With a slightly smaller frame, you can always quill-up. But you can't quill-down. So, if you can get the bars where you want 'em on the 58, and if the effective top tube is normal for you, and if it still gives you enough clearance for off- road shenanigans,

Well, I didn't actually have much choice in the matter when I ordered my Hunqapillar. The 48cm was the ONLY one that stood a chance of fitting, and it seemed to me to be a little big. I set up one of my other bikes at the same standover ... and it made me a little nervous. THe top tube on the 48

I would follow their recommendations. I would be riding a larger if my legs would grow. I've been riding a 54 all year but I have an 85pbh(after raising my voice an octave). That's complicated by the fact that I'm 6' tall. I used drops and a regular stem (rather than the recommended dirt drop)

Thanks again -what a helpful group. I should have mentioned in my original post that I intend to go with Albatross bars. This sounds like another vote for the 58 as long as I'm not using drop bars; I don't think there have been any standover-related contraindications so far. Love those pics of

Another data point for you: I am 5'11, PBH 86-87. I ride a 56 Sam which fits me very well, but I wouldn't want the standoverany higher. If I was looking for a Hunq I would need to ride one first, which you may not be easily able to do. That's probably not very helpful, sorry. Jay On Dec 16,

I was in a similar between sizes type predicament for an AHH. 2 Riv employees suggested I go small and 2 other Riv employees suggested I go large. I posted the Q on the list here as well as speaking to a few Riv owners around town. The general consensus was to go small. Regardless, I was

I'm 5'11 and also have an 87 PBH, and Rich strongly recommended that I get the 54. I love it, though I'm pretty sure I could have set up a 58 so I'd love that, too. Do you know what kind of bars you plan to use? If you want to use Albatross bars or something like that, I'd go for the 58. With

If you go with the smaller frame, it will be tougher to get the bars up high enough and, even if you do, the cockpit length may end up too short. Consider which bars you plan to use. If it is BullMoose, definitely get the larger frame because the quill on the BullMoose is rather short. -- You
