The enamel cloisonné Atlantis badge is definitely the default. You’d have to
ask if they have any of the all-metal variants.

The only one I edited out this year was the solid Silver version. In some
cases the cast badges replaced an earlier stamped version. (like Saluki,
Glorius and Wilbury) I don't think you get a choice today, but never hurts
to ask.

I’m not sure there is much of a story. The silver and gold headbadges came
about maybe 10-ish years ago. They were on the site when they were new but I
don’t recall there being any discussion about WHERE or WHY they were made. I’d
guess they were made around the time the general look of the badges changed
(which you can see in the poster).

Does anyone know more of the story? Or what badge you get today? Is there a
choice?

Cheers!

Nice job, Marty -- your work file work is excellent and should print
beautifully!

I run a photo lab in NYC with a pretty cost-effective online print ordering
platform:

https://www.lti-lightside.com/order-custom-prints

So here's my gift to the bunch: I can't do "free" (I do have partners and a
staggering payroll here) but the online ordering prices are the lowest we
offer and here's a discount code you can use for ordering prints from
Marty's file that will save an additional 25%:

riv_badge

I'll leave it "live" through the end of January -- D/M me if you have any
questions.

Happy Holidays to all ...

2015-12-24 Thread Liesl
Thanks Marty!

And John I am so sorry for your loss. The passing of a beloved dog leaves such
an empty spot in one's heart and home. I have a saluki bike and live with big
beloved standard poodles. I'll give 'em all a little extra holiday cheer and
think of you and Esprit.

[RBW] Re: My Gift to the Bunch

2015-12-24 Thread John Price
Hi Marty,

Thanks for posting that. I don't always like all of Rivendell's bikes but
they sure know how to make the neatest head badges.

As for the Saluki badges, my Esprit who was the model that Jon G and I used
for the Saluki badge (the first, not those weird ones with the "old, sad
eyed" Salukis - if they could even be called Salukis) passed away
yesterday. She led a grand life and made it 15 years old. I think I'll
have to take my Saluki bike out for a ride this weekend in honour of her.

Happy Holidays and thanks again,

John Price
