2014-04-28 Thread Deacon Patrick
Jim has the geometry chart for the QB here:
http://www.cyclofiend.com/Images/pdf/quickbeam_geometry.pdf.

The way I read it, with my PBH of 90, I could go as low as 60 (to push the
small end), ideally 62-64 or even 66 if I really felt like pushing it and
riding a bike like the Aussie Sheepsheerers of yore. Grin.

[RBW] Re: Quickbeam Sizing

2014-04-28 Thread allenmichael
I am almost the same exact size, and I fit very well on a 58 Simple One.
This was the size that the Riv sizing chart recommended, and it worked
well. I had it set up with a 7 or 8 stem and Dove Bars. The quick beam
sizing should be the same.

I concur with others that 58 would be your first choice. Some people might
go even bigger when they use upright bars.

If you like how the 59cm AHH fits, I think you couldn't go wrong with
either a 58 or a 60.

I talked to Mark over at Riv and he said a 58cm is what I need. I am really
hoping to fit on the 60 cm QuickBeam that was posted FS last night. Just
looking for insight from the board, in addition to what Mark told me.

Re: [RBW] Re: Quickbeam Sizing

2014-04-28 Thread cyclotourist
I've found (YMMV) that Quickbeams tend to run a touch large. So while I
normally ride 61cm Rivendell frame perfectly, a 60cm Quickbeam is just
perfect and a 62cm QB *feels* HUGE. That's with an 89PBH. Just a data point
to further confuse your decision making process. If the 60 is a good deal,
pick it up, and if it doesn't work out, you won't lose much or maybe even
trade for a 58 down the line.
