7-speed freewheel on the Phil.
If you want to run 9 speeds on the rear, you need a cassette hub. The Phil

are ~$50-75, and perfectly ok.

Good on you Liesl! I'm in the Twin Cities area, and I too opted out of my
normal (~30 mile round trip) bike commute yesterday on account of the
miserable conditions. Not only did you ride, you chased down and foiled the
