Per one blog I read, Frost River has a new owner as of the end
o'June, beginning of July. The new owner may, or may not be aware of the
past history. This should not change Grant's response, though.
Full disclosure - I purchased a couple of their bags before finding out
about the

When I was looking for a Baggins-like bag I inquired at Frost River about
whether they were still in business or not. I received an email from the
guy that runs the place now, Chris Benson. Here is a snippet of his email:
As for the marketing stuff, here is some background...
Wherefore is it Rivendale to some? I just don't get it. Why is this so common?

named Baggins... just perfect for expert treasure hunters...
And, I will admit I've been aware of Duluth for ages, decades, always liked
their 'classic'
Dan is pretty spot-on, your best bet is trying to get someone here to

I'll bring this up once every 20 months or so, at most.
Frost River stole our designs and calls them their own. The guy there
is nice enough, but got desperate, and did this. He goofed up too many
bags in major ways, and was 3 months behind on delivery. We lent him
money, did all the right nice
