Your package "experiencing an exception" is corporate-passive-voice for "we
screwed up." Don't worry for a day or so, then check for an update.
Usually its nothing, like the regular driver is on vacation and the sub
messed up the route. If nothing has changed in a day call Fedex or
Shipbikes.

Usually exception means bad weather and the package got rerouted/returned

Now the Fedex tracking page shows an "exception," which I've never seen

FWIW, I just did a very rough hypothetical quote for the same hypothetical
package to and from the same zips, and ShipBikes was $23 cheaper than
BikeFlights.

I was skeptical of shipbikes.com at first- mostly due to their simple

I only shipped a frame and parts from SLC to Denver- but their rate was low
enough it was worth the risk.

Sure enough, everything was fine!

Hope that helps...

It depends on the from/to and the actual box dimensions. Sometimes they are
very similar, other times not so similar. I recently shipped a large frame
and fork from NY to CA via Shipbikes and saved $30 over the bikeflights
quote.
