I cut a spring from a cheap retractable ball-point pen in half, and used that for the two shifters. Works just fine. My original springs jumped (geronimo!) from the shifters when I opened them up. They were quickly assimilated by the dust bunnies in my house. On Fri, Aug 1, 2014 at 12:24 PM,

Short answer - yes. However the downtube shifters have a different washer. The bar end version has a circular washer with a square hole in it. The downtubers have the same washer, but with a little tang, or stop that would prevent you from using it on a bar end pod. Sorry, its hard to explain

Jason Yes, you can do it. You have Silver Barcon Shifters. Those barcon shifters came with the round flat washer spacer thing with the big square hole in it. Life is good. When you buy the downtube version, you will receive a flat washer spacer thing with a big square hole in it with a
