They do make some plastic sleeves that can go over the cables in that
situation. I don't know if they are worthwhile or where to buy them though.

If you are talking about ridges cast into the bottom bracket shell, then yes.
The cables ride in the channels of the ridges.
If it's something different, you may want to post a picture.

I have a Toyo built Atlantis - there are guides for the shifter cables and that
is it. Do I just run them in-between them?
