Re: [Ext] [RBW] When a Riv is out of reach..
Great bike, Bruce. I've built a couple of Starlings, and they're really nice bikes for the $$$. Sent from my iPhone > On Sep 13, 2017, at 9:48 PM, WETHwrote: > > Oh that's nice! Great build. May not be a Riv frame, but that's a quality bike. Jay -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "RBW Owners Bunch" group. [RBW] When a Riv is out of reach..
My wife's cousin sold her racy TREK a few years ago and quit riding. Recently, she wanted back in and asked me for help finding a pretty, comfortable and easy to pedal bike. I wanted her on a Glorius/Betty Foy/Cheviot but her budget was only about 1/3 to a 1/4 of those in cost. After giving it some thought, I decided on a New Albion Starling. If you look at the RBW site picture of the Cheviot build, you'll definitely see where I got some ideas from. And I did use pedals from RBW :). The seat in the picture is higher for me than it will be for her, but I test rode it before bringing it home from the shop. Microshift thumbies, an 11-32 8 speed in back and a 46/32 gravel crank in front with outboard BBs. 38mm Panaracers under Tektro brakes. I have some polished honjos to add before delivering it, but just as it is I think it came out nice and $25 under budget. The only lug is the fork crown, but it has an enameled head badge. I enjoyed it so much, it will be hard to actually deliver it. https://www.flickr.com/photos/9535930@N07/36400904293/ -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "RBW Owners Bunch" group.
