Mentioning Neil Peart, he has written two very enjoyable touring books, The
Masked Rider, about a bicycle tour in West Africa, and The Ghost Rider,
about a solo motorcycle tour in western North America: Alaska, Canada, USA
and Mexico. Steve

The Harley folks were indeed very personable. One is a singer in a local band
and saw the "RUSH" jersey one of our group had on. They spent several minutes
trying to beat each other at a pick-up game of Rush trivia. "What song was
written for Neil Peart to try out for the band on?" and etc.
Thanks Ian. The jersey is a wool blend MTB jersey with a single zipper rear
pocket, by Canari. It is very comfortable. I'm sure I found it on Ebay.

Thanks Patrick. The bike is a nice old Tange tubed Japanese crit racer for
pre-conglomerate Nashbar that has been converted to 650B. After a respray, it
got an "Old Man Peterson's Ferrous Velocipedes" seat tube decal, and so also
the name, "Ferrous Beuller."

Yep... people are people everywhere, regardless of appearences. I have had
wonderful conversations with motorcyclists while riding, even whole packs of
them. People just like being acknowledged, it's quite simple.

By "shirt" I mean jersey. It looks a lot like the rugby jerseys we wore at
school (which we often called shirts).

That's a great shot. I have to say that I really like your shirt. Where did you
find it?

Nice bike (yours; I don't care for Harleys, not that I've ridden anything
except a little Vespa), and great photo!
I like to tell motorcyclists that motorcycles are for youngsters; we old
guys ride bicycles.

I wasn't on a Riv today, although this bike has some Silver brand bits, and the
current setup is definitely riv inspired. At a store stop, another bike group
pulled in, and they too were fans of steel bikes.
