Yup, that was 98 degrees on the computer but may not have been the
official temperature of the day but it was at least the lower 90s and the
first scorcher with humidity. I had a gallon cooler filled with ice then
water.it's the only way to go.here's a picture of the set up from a ride

3 plus miles between houses.a great area for cycling but its
definitely BYOB.(bike, beer, breakfast, lunch, etc)

Dan, Eric, Greg, Paul and I did a loop through western Goochland and
eastern Fluvanna Counties yesterday with lunch at an old stage stop,
Wilmington and coffee on Elk Island. Record warm temperatures and dry
weather made for a pleasant change from the often cold, damp, etc weather
seen on the

I'll be on a bit of a family vacation driving from LA to SF and a bit north
starting around the 15th of June and will have my folding Bike Friday in
tow so I hope to get in a casual ride or two along the coast. Are there
any recommendations for cheap/interesting hotels or camping spots
, how hilly.

A group of us took advantage of the warm winter weather to do a 38 mile
loop thru Brunswick County Virginia following and crossing some of the old
abandoned rail
A stretched out old sock (or two) works wonders...can be stretched over the
seat, used as a glove for putting a chain back on, loose tools can be
dropped into it to keep them together and from rattling. I usually have
one with me and always have a couple for padding with my Bike Friday when

Don’t forget the potential medicinal qualities...Apinol is an old pine oil/pine
tar based antiseptic which we used as kids and honey also has well known
antiseptic properties...

Hydro flask or stainless steel equivalent insulated bottles for ice water are
nothing short of great...that’s what I use packed with ice. If I’m not using a
bar bag I have one of those large Two Fish cages with a Voile rubber strap or
equivalent strap...regardless...all hail ice water on hot
I guess I hooked up with Rivendell around 1994 with the email list and ordered
a bunch of Suntour parts Grant had snatched up...
