I agree with Bill . 40 is perfectly fine given a competent build by a dedicated
wheel professional.
My 2 cents: Don't cheap out on wheels in any way, including how they are built,
which is just as important as the components. Do it proper the first time.

Circumstances have led me to a strong needing and the (foolhardy?) buying
of a tandem, and I'm in over my head (low funds and a tandem newbie).
Luckily, before I put in any real effort to get some wheels lined up, I
realized that the large Hubbuhubbuh, like all the other
