[RBW] Re: 68cm Rambouillet for sale "Do I Detect the Odor of a Rat?"
I apologize if I jumped to any conclusions. After an email exchange with another interested party we both decided there was something not quite right with this sale. The lack of timely response, lack of pictures, the timing after I expressed a desire to buy one, pressure to close quickly... Also not too sure why Scott didn't offer to sell the Ram to me directly since as he says, "I listed my Rambouillet after seeing Cycletex's solicitation of interest in purchasing a 68cm Ram". With this apology, I'll close the issue on my end. I wish Scott all the luck selling his Rambouillet and the best of luck to any potential buyers as well. [RBW] Re: 68cm Rambouillet for sale "Do I Detect the Odor of a Rat?"
All- Since my charachter has been impunged I feel it necessary to respond. I listed my Rambouillet after seeing Cycletex's solicitation of interest in purchasing a 68cm Ram. Untill a few days ago, I didn't know RBW Owners Bunch existed. I only discovered RBWOB after perusing the Riv website after ordering a 64cm Sam. For the record, I am selling this Rambouillet that I bought in October '04 because I'm 63 yrs. old and shrinking. When I bought the bike I had a 2" standover, it's now under 1/2". The writing is on the wall, so to speak. I explained all this to Cycltex but apparently it's not important. I guess my only real sin is that I didn't include pictures with my add. I will change that today as soon as it get light enough. As for being "a rat" I would direct anyone who is interested to Gunbroker. com where I have bought and sold firearms (under username sbsmith) for twenty odd years and have ample feedback. And where if you do anything untoward, it's a felony and you can go to jail. As for any other guarantees, I will say that anyone who concludes a deal for this bike, if you are not completely satisfied I will pay the return shipping in full along with a full refund. This is the same guarantee I give to anyone. I was going to list this bike in the spring on Ebay but thought I might try this site first when saw the interest. If I have been mistaken, just let me know and I'll gladly go away. As for all the other respondants, please be patient and I will have photo's to you today. Seller finally responded after three days. No pics. Not real positive he'll have any anytime soon. Something about it being cold in Alaska... The last line of the email is: "I must say that I've gotten several responses so I'll have to close." Hey, no pressure or anything. Another interested party contacted me to see if the seller wrote back and said his inquiries were unanswered and the last mail bounced. Curious that the seller has only one post on RBW to sell a bike I mentioned I really wanted in another post... Anyone happen to know Scott Smith from Alaska with a blue Ram? Not to be a jerk or anything but does anybody else smell a rat? Feel free to insert eye roll at my gullibility here... Regardless, I think I'll pass on sending my $1800 to Scott in Alaska with the unconfirmed Ram deal in Alaska that must close quickly...
