[RBW] Re: Advice sought for 650B tires

2025-01-23 Thread Ryan Mulcahy
Soma Cazaderos can handle light to medium-ish trails and are surprisingly
great on pavement, and I've mostly had good luck with ultradynamico slicks.
My experience with RH has been mixed -- love how they roll, but not
reliable (again, this is just my experience). If I were to get them again,
I'd def ride them tubed.

 Hello group,

I'm looking for advice on 650B tires for a Bleriot that's used

I've ridden this bike for years with nifty swifties, but my supply is now
out. Any recommendations from personal experience? Width in the 35 mm
range is sufficient for my body weight. Thanks in advance.

Grand Bois Cypres or Hetre. I also run 38mm GK Slicks. The GKs feel a
little more stout but in my experience the Grand Bois tires have a nicer
road feel.

[RBW] Re: Advice sought for 650B tires

2025-01-22 Thread Nick Bull
I commuted 30 miles a day for a few years in Maine, I rode lots of tires,
but the ones I got flats on where the light casing slick Gravel Kings, and
Rene Herse light casing. The standard casing Rene Herse held up well, but
cut easily, enough so that the tire lasted 1/4 the miles of the Pari-Motos.
The new Gravel King slicks with the tougher casing has been what I've been
riding recently and I LOVE them! Roll great, maybe not as soft as the RH
tires but they hold up very well! I was only able to put about 1k on them
before someone put a knife through the sidewalls while locked up.

If I was going to recommend a tire to someone I would defiantly recommend
the newer Gravel King Slicks over anything else for commuting.

[RBW] Re: Advice sought for 650B tires

2025-01-22 Thread David Harries
I have a NIB pair of 650x38 Loup Loup Pass Standard Casing tires that I
would sell for $120 shipped CONUS if you're interested. I upsized to
650Bx42 (BSP) and they're sitting on the shelf.

38s are better than 32s, but 42s are better still!
