[RBW] Re: Mackinaw Island -
I'm not too surprised at the lack of CF on the trip. Western Michigan is a huge tourist area, a lot of cyclotourists and other vacationers are around in the summer and most of the destinations will be populated with touring or hybrid/trail bikes. I can assure you, if you stayed in one place a few days or looked for the local clubs you would find herds of spandex hamsters rocketing around the countryside on their weekly rides. We were there for three days last summer. Never locked our bikes. Great place to visit. Not the cheapest place we've been but it sure was fun. Perry I don't have any knowledge of theft incidents. we didn't bother locking our bikes. :) On Thursday, August 29, 2013 9:13:14 AM UTC-5, bobish wrote: > > Kelly, really enjoyed these pics. Marc Actually, any myself included ferry their bikes across to visit and explore the island. I mentioned the carbon fibre as reference, as in the past I had mine and viewed several more. After thinking about it though I noticed a lack of carbon fibre sittings along the entire two week period. Unusual compared to other trips. No statement being made just an observation. Saw lots of bikes and people however. Kelly -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "RBW Owners Bunch" group. [RBW] Re: Mackinaw Island -
The bikes on Mackinac Island are transportation bikes. CF bikes would be kinda useless since they are made for racing. The five mile loop might be a good place for a race but I haven't heard of one. Patrick We camped I'm state parks almost every night. We also had a full day to ride nothing but Mackinaw Island. We detoured a but along the way as well ending up with 645 miles over two week or 11 days of actual riding. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "RBW Owners Bunch" group. Nice trip! Great place to get away from things. It's a great place to visit and do some riding too. Would Bar Harbor in Maine be similar on the bridal trails? -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "RBW Owners Bunch" group. Did you notice that when the streets were clean of horse droppings, fudge was available at sales prices in the fudge shops? :) On Tuesday, August 27, 2013 11:09:21 AM UTC-7, Kelly wrote: > > Well I'm home and grateful for another great tour.
