Love 'em. Kojaks are my new favorite tires, along with Rivendell Jack
Browns. We have long hard descents in Sonoma County, with plenty of
crummy pavement and potholes... so the comfort and handling of good
32mm - 33 mm tires are a perfect match.

2011-10-29 Thread Shifty
Yeah, I'd agree that they're a nice alternative to (previously owned)
cheapo Tektro brake levers and pointy top Shimano levers. They're not quite
on par with Campagnolo and Shimano machine quality, having used both
extensively, but they rival their ergonomics. The hand hold on the lever
was very well thought through, indeed. Initially, I regretted the "I'm a
retro lever" appearance but the comfort obliterated that concern. I've come
to enjoy how they look on my new AHH:

[RBW] Re: Tektro TRP Brake Levers

2011-10-29 Thread Alex Moll
You beat me to the punch, Max. I just logged in to post of review of
these levers.

When I first saw them on rivbike.com, I was taken aback. They looked a
bit Romulan, or Klingon to me (did Grant write that?) Then I saw the
high polish, the tan hoods, and the drillium. The looks were starting
to grow on me, and they did look comfortable.

I decided to go for it, and finally got around to putting them on this
week. Went for a good ride today, and confirmed they are very
comfortable, and work very well. I especially like the quick release
button - really slick, and makes opening up my Paul Racers WAY easier.

Highly recommended!

that's great to hear that they are larger. Too many of these levers are too
petite for me.

I am using the SRAM S500 levers on my Coho and they fit my big hands well
too. I switched the hoods to Hudz in Bordeaux gold
