I just bought a roll of this stuff called "Rescue Tape". It's a silicone
elastick-y thing about an inch wide in a number of colors. I got it to
dress the ends of some computer cabling snakes, but after using it for that,
it seems like there would be a myriad of other applicatons. It can be used
like heat-shrink tubing, without the heat.

Basically, you wind it around itself and it binds to itself after a few
minutes. You can put it under significant pressure when you wrap. It's
supposed to be water/chemical/etc proof once it binds. You cannot unwrap it
once fused - you've got to cut it off. It doesn't bind to the suface it's
wrapped around.

Anyway, you might look for some (~$10 per roll). It won't leave adhesive
residue like duct or electrical tape, but with a few turns, it will
definitely silence a rattle.

hope that helps,

- Jim

I bought some of the smallest rubber vacuum hose from the auto parts store, cut
a couple of approx 3" long pieces, slit them lengthwise through one wall, then
slipped them over the wire of the Wald. Voilla; quiet hooks.

cheers,
Andrew

On the wald basket where you clip the hooks on, wrap that section of
the basket with a little electrical tape.

[RBW] quieting the Shopsack

The medium Sackville Shopsack in the Wald basket has been wonderful.
Keeps things dry, easy to detach and bring into the store, nice
looking, easy to open and close, canvas feels nice, etc. But sometimes
the rattle from the "dog leash" hooks bothers me. I was wondering if
anyone was using any clever methods to reduce the rattle. Figuring
that some old tubes or cloth tape would work. Any other ideas?
