Don't know if you are referring to the cotton hat or the woolly stubby
cap:
http://www.rivbike.com/products/show/woolly-stubby/22-137

I love my woolly stubby (current version, bigger bill). Fits great and
I have a 7 3/8 noggin. Perfect size bill, warm, comfy, classy, even.
Wish it got colder around here more often so I could wear it somewhere
besides very early morning rides:

and ridiculously air-conditioned buses and movie theaters (I kid you
not).

Re: [RBW] Re: RIV Clothing I've been trying out

2011-02-07 Thread Bruce
I have two versions of the older orange colored ones, and wear them year round.
They are excellent for summer sweat management, although one (With green
embroidery stitching) suffered color bleed until washed several times, while
the
other (with blue embroidery stitching) did not.

Lately, I have appreciate Rapha caps both the Summer lightweight tightly woven
cotton and the Spring/Fall heavier treated cotton caps. I've ordered a new
woolen cap from Synaptic and will weigh in with observations after getting it
and using it.

The RBW cotton caps aren't a great solution for me. Too flimsy for cold
weather,
and not good at sweat control in hot weather. If I lived in a drier clime, say
near Mt. Diablo, I bet they'd be just right. I mostly wear wool. Been using
some
of Jackie Walz's caps for several years now. I've emailed her to see what
fabrics are avail and sort of semi-custom bought.
