We live in Chicago so it's 42x24 surly/sugino stainless stick shift front.
I did the whole turkey vulture thing.  The rear cassette is a sunrace 9
speed 11-40.

That seatube stop is to run cantis which I found out  from Roman.  He said
he tried it with lack luster results.  If you run v brakes go straight from
the aft top tube stop to the Noodle on the rear brake.

It's real comfy but it's got a shortish "top tube".  But I only took a
couple of laps around my parking garage.  It's supposed to be my wife's
bike though so she's the one that's got to like it.  She has no idea what
she's got.

I am running esi grips on all but one of my bikes and think they are
great.  If your interested I have an extra set of orange chunky grips.  I
also have brake levers if you need some.
