It is neither. The seagull is flat. Flat is maybe 1,000 feet of
elevation for 100 miles. The IH100 has 2 1/2 to 3 times more elevation
gain than that. But by real-world standards, where an average century
has between 5,000 - 6,000 feet of elevation gain, the IH100 is
comparatively easy, having roughly half that much elevation gain.
If you are worried about the full IH100, there's a 100k option; or, if
you want more than that, it's easy to make your own shortcut 80 mile
version that eliminates most of the elevation gain. I had to do that a
couple of years ago when my right hand shifter failed, and was only
willing to give me two clicks' worth of travel (even in friction mode!).
