Re: [RBW] Re: Silver OM-1 Derailer - Any word yet on its capacity???

2025-12-21 Thread Sean Bulthuis
I have mine on my Sam. 3 ring (46-36-24) and 9 spd rear (11-32) and it
shifts like a dream. Silver 2 shifters. I'm a pretty conservative
shifter. Meaning, I keep pretty consistently in big chain ring and
smallest 3 cogs. Middle ring and middle 3 and small chain ring for the
lowest 3 gears. There is some "grace" provided and when I mess up it
(OM-1) tells me, which I love. For all who hope . . . I hope Santa leaves
one in all your stockings!

I didn't know Rivendell contracted Microsoft to make OM-1. When I first
saw the photo of OM-1 I thought that looks very similar to the R10 that I
am using, except R10 is high-normal. But for some reason the silver

Patrick- I will be happy to oblige. I snagged one somehow. Good timing as
an xtr RR mech wasn’t playing nicely on my ritchey breakaway cross. The
gearing is 46/30 with an 11-36 xt cluster, shifted friction. I don’t have
problems with a similar setup and an older rr xtr mech on my bombadil,
maybe this will be the fix.

Re: [RBW] Re: Silver OM-1 Derailer - Any word yet on its capacity???

2025-11-08 Thread maxcr
I'm one of the lucky few who managed to get one. It will replace a Shimano
Deer Head RD on my Ram which needs a drivetrain switch now that it's
converted to 650b and my 180 WI cranks are too close to the ground for my
comfort (going 170).

When I got to the online store (I think I was there very early), I checked
and there were only 10 OM-1's available, I think that's all they sold, but
I can't be sure.

I'll report when I get it and install it.

2025-11-08 Thread Guy Jett
According to Rivendell (Derailer - Rear - Silver OM-1 (reverse action) - 1
)
the capacities are listed as:
"Biggest cog it’ll shift to: 36t. With an extension tab it’ll shift to at
least 42t.
Chain wrap (explained on the box): 39t"

Didn't see anything there about indexed shifting but I do recall seeing
that somewhere.
