When I saw this RDA rule revision proposal, Container as source, I
hoped that at last an alternative we might recognize the fact that a
DVD container is what the patron sees, particularly when the container
has only the English title, and the other language
As I read it, the alternative source is the LABEL on the disc, permanently
printed on or affixed to the resource, and NOT the container (or case), which
is specifically excluded as a preferred source. That's the way CDs and
phonograph records have always been done.
