Getting Started with RDA: A CIG pop-up workshop 3rd July 2013, University of Warwick The CILIP Cataloguing and Indexing Group is pleased to announce a new workshop aimed at helping libraries migrate to RDA. If you are planning to adopt Resource Description and Access (RDA), or just thinking about planning to adopt it, this workshop will give you the background that you need. The workshop will provide you with practical, useful advice to help you plan for adoption RDA. The workshop will address:
· Changes that RDA will make to your library's cataloguing · How to go about training yourself and your staff · What issues you need to take account of · What to do with your legacy catalogue data · Changes you need to make to your library system and discovery layer · Planning for your migration Workshop speakers will be from libraries that have already adopted RDA and include: · Alan Danskin, The British Library · Céline Carty, Cambridge University Library · Stuart Hunt, University of Warwick · Mike Mertens, RLUK By the end of the day participants will be able to create an action plan of what they need to do to make their adoption of RDA a success.
