The RDA report* mentions re-writing (or as was mentioned at ALA,
re-wording) selected chapters of RDA. According to Beacher Wiggins
at an ALA Annual meeting, there will be a couple RDA chapters that
will be chosen for this work initially. The text itself of RDA will
change as part of this process, but not the outcome of the
instructions nor the arrangement of the rules--hence the re-wording
moniker. For instance, RDA 3.4.5 is about recording pagination of
text, and if, say, Chapter 3 were chosen for the re-write, 3.4.5 will
still be the place you look for filling out the 300 $a.
On another note that Bernhard has raised up-thread, it's interesting
that all the deadlines the Test Coordinating Committee set for the
conditions for adoption are multiples of 3. Makes me wonder if news
on progress will be issued every three months, rather than more
frequently which I too would prefer.
