Can someone give me some pointers on how to use rdiff-backup with VSS on
windows XP and Server 2003? We need to be able to backup MSSQL, Exchange,
and other in-use files and VSS seems to be the best way to do so.
Thanks.

Can I get some instructions or help on building rdiff-backup on
Windows? I have the source and a python install including pywin32. I
am pretty familiar with Python, but not so much with projects that also
need compiling.
Thanks.

the location of the backed up files from the actual drive to the
vss image. I was thinking a new flag could be implemented '--vss' in
order to tell rdiff-backup that vss images are desired.

I agree with you that either option is better than cvs and probably
subversion, at least for a project like this. So I would encourage you
to go for it. The sooner the better. :)

Maybe this isn't the right track at all, or maybe you have even tried
this already, but its an idea anyway. :)
