Jeff, excellent advice. Even seasoned electricians are negligent in this area. We've done lots of large commercial electrical installations over the years and a rule that was strictly enforced over the years in our shop was to stand to the side and look to the side when operating breakers. On

We recommend making a Pi filter consisting of a 50 uH 30 amp medium Q coil and .1uF 100+ volt disc capacitors. Insert the Pi filter in the PV+ line. Wire with short direct leads to the control. Helps a lot. Not perfect. Frank Lewon BZ Products Inc. 7914 Gravois Road St. Louis MO 63123 USA

Hi all, thanks so much. I did do dilignece and checked it out. I thank you so much for the suggestions, I do not want to hear from this roof again, so I looked at it all. Here is my conclusions: When the array was installed, the first row was set, the next row was set on top touching the

Hi Glenn, Sure, except for morning net operations right when the controllers are starting up. Or, daytime on 20 meters for DX operations. Or for weak signal work or daytime AM radio listeners...and so on. Point is to find an alternative to the noise. Dan, Thanks for the suggestions. The

Hello Frank, Looks like your low pass design cutoff frequency is below 500 kHz. I had not thought of this but I'll try it. Do you know where to find the coil that large? I would think that just by the nature of their design that an MPPT controller would have this filtering. Thanks,

Check with DigiKey or Mouser for a suitable (toroid wound) inductor. Some times a L filter will work. To make a L filter tightly wrap 20' of insulated #12 Romex on a 1/2 X 12 length of re-bar. Insert in series with the PV+ line. Depending on the radio. Some times the internal micro

I am concerned with Delta LA 600VDC cans being mounted exterior from J-boxes (or disconnect switches) on ground mounts. I remember hearing from an old hand that these devices can fail in a manner that could possibly expose the wiring to human hands. The wires would have high voltage DC
