Hi Dana,
If the Trace model is SW, it will not be approved for selling if it was
manufactured prior to 2002 (non-GTI model). If the batteries need to be
replaced, the added expense may be considerable depending on the size of
the bank. I guess it depends if the customer really wants backup. You
Just an FYI for anyone wanting to use Tigo optimizers with SMA inverters

According to SMA the Tigo optimizers will not operate with the SMA inverters.
They didn't go into detail. They just said the AFCI feature of the Sunny Boy is

It has been pointed out that the Tigo modules can and do blow up some

has fairly fast tracking, the two units fight each other. We have found

Don't know if you can AC couple the inverter. Their website says they are about
to release a version of the optimizer that will work with other manufacturer's

what would happen if a hv mppt charge controller were paralleled with the panel
output feeding the pump?
All MPPT controllers I know of all need battery voltage to operate.

I thought I'd pass on some real world experience with the Power-One 300-watt
micro here in Hawaii.
I've paired it with a 327-watt module and am seeing AC output as high as 316
watts. See the screen shot below.
And I've seen output as high as 259 watts AC out of their 250-watt micro.
