This may seem odd but it worked, i used a Morningstar Prostar MPPT when i
needed to do 24 v system to 12 volt loads. I could set the output voltage
it had very low tare

Allan,
I have used the Mean-well converters several times and have had good
luck. My other choice would be an Iota but definitely more expensive.
