Hello, Blake Gleason & All the Mechanix~ Travis Jordan astutely suggested "David Katz's single row system on 4" posts, it would tilt to vertical and only be one mod high in portrait." Mick here: If the site would accommodate something as wide & low as what Travis described, you might ask Array

Blake, You might try David Katz's single row system on 4" posts, it would tilt to vertical and only be one mod high in portrait. He does not have engineering on it, but it is very beefy and would have no issues as long as you tilted it up in winter. I am very interested in more info on what you

I have found that after the first year the customer, after fighting w/ tilt up legs, that the array will usually end up in a single angle. It would seem to me w/ the # of proposed modules you look at a motorized tilt option. There are companies, that design & build this type of rack for

Coming back to this Blake - seems to me you need a platform type rack that has a tilt-up set of legs. The Nuance Osprey is such a rack - though I think they only go up to 35º but I think it could be easily adapted.  They use Earth Anchors but can also be mounted to sonotubes or even ground

I have seen repeat melting and freezing rip the frames from the modules, granted these modules were not sealed or glued in. But just consider if water can get in a rail and freeze then any extruded frames with inclosed channels can be effected. Option is to drill the boxed channel to promote

Good afternoon; Mounting modules on 3 rails will typically increase the load carrying capacity of the array by 30% (or more). Most module manufacturers list this method in their installation manuals, or if not in the manual, they have a waiver written for that method. Be aware that when

Hi Blake, I'm curious why the assumption that the snow will destroy the array - how about 3 rails instead of 2 under the modules? Blake Gleason via RE-wrenches March 26, 2022 at 8:39 AM Hi all, I think there's a lot of experience on this list with

Hi all, I think there's a lot of experience on this list with PV in snowy regions. I'm wondering if anyone has ideas and/or specific hardware/racking systems to allow for easy "stowing" (in vertical or near-vertical position) or "seasonal removal" of the ground mount PV modules for the winter
