Bill, Jay told me he is going to find out why Outback has not been moving forward with this. It is up to Outback to supply a Modbus or Canbus entry into the Outback network. They also have to supply some of their language to a battery company for implementation. I do not know Outback

Dave,             I missed your reference to OB/Simpliphi offering a "close the loop" to mean closed loop comm.  They are working on it, I'm sure its a big job. Bill Feather River Solar Electric Bill Battagin, Owner 4291 Nelson St. Taylorsville, CA 95983 530.284.7849 CA Lic 874049

The AmpliPHI features a Battery Management System (BMS) with closed loop communications pre-configured with Sol-Ark inverters that reports SOC and other critical real-time data, optimizing the value of storage and functionality within balance-of-system equipment. Combined with our proven

Bill, Unless I am mistaken the new Ampliphi 3.8 is still not closed loop with much other than Solarark. The old line of their batts, well has now been improved but not there yet until they get closed loop done! IMHO. Until Outback is capable of closed loop BMS into optics and their network I

Dave,             I just went through a thorough installation/programming regime for an Outback FlexPower2 married to 8, SimpliPhi 3.8's.  Outback and SimpliPhi have spent a great deal of time developing setpoints for several of OB's products in a 23 detailed page integration guide. Bill

Something is wrong with your programming of the monitor! Does the battery make give you parameters to program, they should! This is not normal with what I have seen. Reading state of charge on a monitor that does not have a BMS feeding Soc to it, is for indication only. It is a moveable feast

Jerry, No doubt about it lithium battery chemistry is more efficient than lead-acid battery chemistry. That is a good reason to choose lithium batteries. However, 98% RTE is wrong. While being charged the terminal voltage for lithium iron phosphate batteries, in a 48-volt system, is
