As a west coast guy I use Trojan IND when I get a chance to sell industrial
batteries. They are made here in cali which makes warranty ( none to date) and
delivery faster/easier.
As to Rolls. In the past warranty was a complete cluster #@% which is why I
haven’t used them. Now its much bett
Actually I've had more early failures with their 2 volt S-series cells then the
T12-250. But I now loath series-parallel strings, so I still put up with the
rare 2 volt failure.

As with Tump, we have been using the KS series for over 20 years with
little issue. My own particular caveat is that we have now started to use
Crown as well and are finding them as rugged, easier to move (metal cases
with handles), with built in water miser caps, and a better warranty, and

The 5000 series are what we always recommend and install for my off grid
clients. 2 volt cells are the only way we go. Despite what folks believe, we
find it easier to handle the KS series then the L16.
We have been using them for many years and as with ANY manu, they have and had
issues BUT
As a caveat, I would add that we do not use their T12250 batteries. For
some reason, they have not been nearly as reliable as any of their other
batteries we have used.

We use Rolls almost exclusively. We've had occasional failures, but in
general they are very rugged, and stand up to a great deal of abuse
(speaking from the perspective of being one of my own worst clients that
way).

i have a set of their fc420's flooded, lead calcium... which is (imo) the
perfect battery for grid tie with battery backup. i add water every other year,
and equalize every 6 months. these are from 2008 and still going strong.
another system i have has a 1986 vintage set (made by "globe batter
They have been reliable. I think they are worth it.
