Bicycles are EMP resistant transport.  Not to belittle or sacred cow business, but electricity is not a prerequisite for life. Much of humanity lives their entire lives without it. Air, Water, Shelter, Food; roughly in that order.  That was my Y2K mantra, and I am not excited about everyone ge

Spent a little time over the last few years trying to study this, there is dozens of answers to the same question it seems if you surround it with mesh it depends on the spaces size in the mesh and it also depends on the frequency of the EMP I would not bet that just putting a disconnect in the

Interesting subject Here in Hawaii there is talk about this, in 61 there was an air burst SW of the islands as a US military test, it took out most of the grid, radios and alot of other early electronics. Look at a microwave oven see the holes, thats the size needed to block that wavelength, now i

Hey Guys... This is a question that when ever it came into the warranty area or tech support issues, there were a lot of eye rolls, and often you really didn't want to talk about it... At Trace we got to the point of telling people (Y2K Days) that if we are still here well fix it! In theory, I w

I don't think it would. It would depend on the size of the pulse. I keep a spare CSW 4048, a CC, Hammy, and a BMS in a cage. I do what you wrote for lightning if it is bad enough and I am home. SPD's and prayer also.. If there is a solar pulse or carrington it would be pretty bad. Not cheery for a

In 2013 we were having a discussion of Faraday cages. I don't think we ever got an answer to the question of whether a grounded inverter or charge control enclosure would serve as a Faraday cage? If all external lines were disconnected, would the grounded metal enclosure prevent damage from an EMP?
