 From AAP

10.30am (AEST) ABORIGINAL activist Murrandoo Yanner has been cleared to
hunt and eat wild crocodiles in north Queensland after a landmark ruling by the

Full Bench of the High Court.

The ruling further clarifies native title rights in relation to traditional
hunting and
 fishing.

Mr Yanner was charged in 1994 for spearing and eating two small crocodiles on
Aboriginal land near Doomadgee in the Gulf of Carpentaria.

Chief Justice Murray Gleeson, Mary Gaudron, Michael Kirby and Kenneth Hayne
ordered that the charges be dropped.
