Was there a solution found to this problem. I am having the same
problem, I have searched the FAQ and dejanews but can not find an
answer.

I have a bit more info to add, the problem is caused by the /bin/sh link
being set to bash 2.02. This suggest a compatibility problem between
bash running as sh in 2.02 and 1.14 versions. Setting /bin/sh to
bash-1.14 solves the problem. The documentation supplied with bash does
list differences between these shell versions but nothing which seems to
explain the above.

Anyone any ideas.
