Reiserfs is a mailing list. And yes some spam does get relayed by it
This mess itself, sent to the list, is SPAM. _Please_ check before sending

This also cleared up boot problems I was having with 2.5.50.

y times with good results here.
If you need a standalone boot cd try downloading knnopix. You will want
to put reiserfsck 3.6.4 on a floppy as knnopix has 3.6.3 on it.

worked well. The
third option is to backup, recreate the fs, and restore.
If I were you I would backup anything critical, update reiserfsck run it.

EVMS has a feature to handle bad blocks.

Got this after a couple of hours with pre2-ac2+preempth+radixtree.

Vitaly,
I think Andrew could easily turn out to be right.
How about adding a clause to your $25 per hour?
"If, in our opinion, the bug turns out to be the result
of a reiserfs problem, all changes will be waived."

Huh? I do readonly online reiserfscks on RO snapshots every couple of
days. I do not understand why you say "You need writable snapshots"
since this is NOT the case here.

use reiserfs allocates inode tables dynamically, right?).
Also reiserfsck? It would be nice if it cleaned too...
Ed Tomlinson
Even when you stop getting the error _always_ have a current backup.
I also saw DMA timeouts in old kernels. I have not seen them with recient kernels

Hi all,

Just a note after this I rebooted to 2.4.10, created a
kernel:
Oct 3 17:41:56 oscar kernel: Code: 8b 0b eb 03 45 8b 09 39 d9 74 27 39 71 08 75 f4 66

Hi,
I have been runing this along with the preemption patch on -pre12 without
problems. Reiserfsck(ing) a snapshot shows no corruptions. The fs in
question is fairly active - a 1G snapshot fills in about 12-18hours...
I am keeping a couple of good backups just in case...
Thanks,
Ed
Hi,
After patching for LVM did you also install the VFS locking patch found in the same
directory the LVM generated patch is built in?

Hi,
This is old news. There is a fix for reiserfs for this pending. It just needs
more time and people to test it...
Hope it makes it into a kernel soon.

Since The fs has just backups I remade it.
All seems to work now - must have been due to corruption of
some sort.

Which version of reiserfsck? Which version of linux?
Ed Tomlinson
_does_ happen, an automatic fsck can
be a good thing.
I administer a SAP systems.
