Subject: KCalendarCore Require Libcal 3.0

From: Allen Winter
To: KDE release coordination
Release Team,
Unless there are objections, I'd like to require libical v3.0 in kcalendarcore.
libical v3.0.0 was released over 3 years ago (28 Oct 2017)
@Volker: you are the kcalendarcore maintainer. any objections?
Revert completed.
@Damien: yes please. add a conditional compile check for libical 3.0.5 (better
double-check that version)

FYI,
I released Libical 3.0.6 over the weekend.
This version has a fix to deal with https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=385364
I think there was a similar bug but I can't find it now.
Howdy,
Libical 2.0 has been released since end of 2015.
I released Libical 3.0 in early 2018 and expect to release the 3rd bug fix
patch (v3.0.3) soon.
This is a formal request to increase the minimum required version by KCalCore
from 1.0 to 2.0.
Version 2.0 is less buggy and fully source
015 from what I can see.

I kinda object to the short timeline.
I wanted to finish up some BIC cleaning. No API changes planned at this time.

Coming in kdepim-runtime 4.9, we will now be providing a Google resource as

Both of these new resources are dependent on 3rdparty libraries, optionally.
So you must have all the necessary dependencies available at build

The version strings in the tarballs for kdepim and kdepim-runtime 4.8.1 still

Last i heard the Frameworks guys were aiming at some kind of release around

KNotes is essentially deprecated now by KJots *
KNotes will not be ported to Akonadi and all future notes taking features

KNotes does not have a maintainer, nor has it had a maintainer in a long time.
So I propose moving KNotes into extragear

A new Akonadi v1.7.0 is now available from your favorite KDE mirror in
