And for Applications 17.12 will be "auto droped" since i guess noone will port
it to KF5.

Hi,

The plugin was used to be able to have the implementation in a separate
library/plugin, but have the API in KDE libs. This was from the KDE3 times.
libksane took it's place quite soon after KDE4 came out. I think it should be
OK to stop releasing by now. I don't know of any maintained applications that
still would use the plugin.

  Kåre

I wanted to ask about it for a while: what is it used for?
The only reference is in kdelibs4support. Does anyone remember more?

Regarding this release: we already released it in beta and rc, maybe a bit
late?

ksaneplugin is still KDE4 based and libksane if KF5-based since 15.12.

That's how the ECM macro (for installing headers for namespaced classes)
works.

It's the same in namespaced frameworks like KIO:

PREFIX/include/KF5/KIOCore/kio/chmodjob.h
PREFIX/include/KF5/KIOCore/KIO/ChmodJob

This allows to #include
or #include
so it's all as intended. These headers should NOT end up in the same directory
[except on case-insensitive filesystems].

Hi,
looks good overall, but akonadi-contacts has started doing something weird --
some of its headers go to $INCLUDEDIR/KF5/ContactEditor while others go to
$INCLUDEDIR/KF5/contacteditor.
Is that intentional, or was someone using a case insensitive filesystem?

If they are of the form "contacteditor/classname.h" and
"ContactEditor/ClassName", then it is probably intentional.

Adding KDEPIM developers to investigate.

Christoph

Related to the issues with umbrello described before in this list; it
